Abigail Jones, Theft > petty larceny, 24th February 1697.

Abigail Jones , of the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields , was Indicted for feloniously stealing a Pewter Pot, value 8 d. on the 19th of February last; the Goods of Francis Haynes . It appeared the Prisoner came into the House, and called for Half a pint of Ale; and whilst the Maid was gone to fetch it, she took a Pint pot, and put into her Apron, which was found upon her. The Prisoner denied it; but the Fact was plain, thereupon the Jury found her guilty to the value of 10 d.
