Mary Powel, Theft > grand larceny, 24th February 1697.

Mary Powel , of the Parish of St. Clements Danes , was Indicted for feloniously stealing 2 Muslin Neckcloaths, value 5 s. the Goods of Andrew Baden , on the 6th of February last. The Prisoner denied the fact, and said that the Neckcloaths were her own, and that the Prosecutor would have extorted a confession from her, although she was innocent; the Jury acquitted her.
