Mary Tooth, Theft > grand larceny, 9th September 1696.

Mary Tooth of the Parish of St. Martins in the Fields , was Indicted for feloniously stealing from John Stennett , a Cloth Mantua Gown and Petticoat, with divers other Goods , on the 6th of April last. The Prosecutor declared that he was but just come to Town, that his Trunk was cut from behind the Coach, in which were the Goods; that they were sold by the Prisoner in the Strand, and that she had 5 l. 10 s. for them. The Prisoner denied the Fact, said that she had them from one Mrs. Mansfield, and did sell the things for her. The Jury found her not guilty .
