Peter Bennet, alias French Peter , of St. James's Westminster , was Indicted for breaking the House of Francis Kertaly Esq ; on the 20th of October , and taking one pair of Silver Candlesticks value 5 l. The Prosecutors Servant deposed, that he placed the Candlesticks in the Parlor; and having occasion to go down to the Kitchen, before he came up they were carried off. Another Evidence deposed, that he and the Prisoner taking their rounds, he thrust open the Prosecutor's Door, and brought out the Candlesticks, which the Prisoner sold for 50 s. and divided the Money. The Burglary did not plainly appear; he was found Guilty of Felony .
