1407. JOHN TAYLOR was indicted for stealing, on the 16th of June , 1 fender, value 11s. , the goods of John Manns .

JOHN MANNS . I live in Dean-street, and am an ironmonger . I was shifting my goods in the window on the 16th of June, and saw the prisoner take this fender off the rails, and go off with it - I followed and collared him; he dropped it - I had not lost sight of him.(Property produced and sworn to.)

Prisoner's Defence. I met some of my shipmates, who gave me some drink, and I might have done this for what I know - I had had no victuals that day.

GUILTY . Aged 46. - Confined One Month .
