953. JOSEPH ROBERTS was indicted for stealing, on the 13th of April , 4lbs weight of ham, value 2s. , the goods of Henry Parratt .

JUDITH KING . I saw the prisoner take the ham out of Mr. Parratt's window, in London-street , and run down the street; I gave an alarm, and he was taken.

JAMES GRAY . I saw the prisoner run, and three more in front of him; I passed the prisoner, thinking the others had the ham, but they had not; I then turned, and took the prisoner with this ham, which is my master's, Mr. Henry Parratt .(Property produced and sworn to.)

Prisoner's Defence. This gentleman passed me, and said, "Where is that bacon?" I had not any - I took this up from the ground, and said, "I suppose this is it."

GUILTY . Aged 14.
