277. MARY GARRON was indicted for fraud .
ELIZABETH SAUNDERS . I am barmaid to W. Shaw Hill , who keeps a wine-vaults in Fore-street . On the 31st of October , about three o'clock in the afternoon, the prisoner came there, and said she wanted a bottle of gin for Mr. Johnson - she was formerly in the habit of coming for Mr. Johnson, of Wood-street, and I let her have it; she never had any before, without paying for it.
SAMUEL JOHNSON . The prisoner was my housemaid ; I have sent her to Hill's for wine, but not spirits - she left me on the 28th of October; I did not send her on the 31st- she lived about fifteen months with me. I believe her husband has misled her.
JOSEPH HORTON . I am an officer, and took her in charge.
GUILTY . Aged 24.
Strongly Recommended to Mercy.
Confined One Month .
