Samuel Burgis , George Shorter and Edward Marlow , of the Parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch , were indicted for breaking the Shop [Text unreadable in original.] Benworth , with Intention to steal her Money [Text unreadable in original.]

The Prosecutor swore, that the Shop was [Text unreadable in original.] she was in Bed, and that a Neighbour knock'd at her Window, and told her of it about 4 in the Morning. Her Neighbour depos'd, that she saw 3 Persons under the Window, but could not say they were the Prisoners, and a Boy was positive that he saw them come over a Wall, and Burgis take out the Bar, and open the Window. They has several Witnesses to their Reputation, and some who lessen'd the Credit of the Boy, whereupon they were acquitted .
