Edward Johnson , of the Parish of St. Martins in the Fields , was indicted for feloniously Stealing 2 Yards and a half of Indian-Sattin , the Goods of Elizabeth Cliping , on the 12th of Jan. last. The Evidence deposed, That he was seen lurking about the Shop, at last he put his Arm over the Grate, and took the Goods, which were found upon him; it being his first Fact, and he calling divers People to his Reputation, who gave him a very good Report; the Jury found him guilty to the value of 10 d.
