Sarah Morrison , of the Parish of St. Andrews Holborne , was Indicted for feloniously stealing 40 Yards of Taffety Ribbon, value 40 s. the Goods of Rachel Bonner , on the 7th of October last. The Evidence deposed that the Prisoner came into the Shop, pretending to buy some Ribbon, and took her Gloves, and put them cross her Arms, and leant on the Counter, and took up the Goods, and then went to the Door, and afterwards turned back, and held him in discourse, whilst she got another, and went backwards and forwards three several times, and every time took something, and at last went her ways; but he let her go out of the Shop, and then took her with the Goods upon her; she did not deny the Fact, saying, that she was in Drink and did not know what she did. The Jury found her Guilty .
