Rebecca Maud , of the Parish of Stepny , was Indicted for Felony and Burglary, for breaking the House of Thomas Mead , on the 24th of day of August last, about two in the Night, and taking thence a pair of Worsted Stockings, and 5 blew Aprons, 2 Plates, a Copper Sauce Pan, and other Goods . The Prosecutors Wife said that they broke a Shutter, and got in at a Window, and took the Goods, but was taken. She denied the Fact, saying she was going early to Stocks Market, she met a Man who askt her to carry the Goods to Bell-Wharf, which she agreed to, but was taken with the Goods. She could not prove it, and being known to be an old Offender, the Jury found her Guilty .
