Joseph Jones, alias Sheggy , of the Parish of Pancrass , was Indicted for robbing Joseph Tomlin on the Highway on the 10th of July last, of a Castor Hat, and 7 s. and 9 d. in monies numbred . The Evidence declared, That as he was coming from Hamstead, he was set upon by the Prisoner, and two men more, who took him into a Field, bound him, rob'd him, and went their ways. The Prisoner denied the Fact, and called some people, who did declare that he was at another place when the Robbery was committed. The Jury found him not guilty .
