Elizabeth Harris, alias Essex , of the Parish of St. Andrews Holbourn , was Indicted for feloniously stealing a Lutestring Mantua Gown value 20 s. a Holland Shirt, and divers other Goods , from Benjamin Berry on the 27th of August last. The Evidence declared, that she was a Lodger in the house, and took the Goods away; but following her, found the Gown upon her back. The Prisoner denied the Fact, saying she did borrow them, but could not prove it. The Jury found her guilty to the value of 10 d.
