Samuel Herne of the Parish of St. Giles's without Cripplegate , was indicted for stealing a Bay Gelding from one Mr. Benjamin Dukes of Devonshire , on the 11th. day of August last. It appeared, That he stole the Horse and sold it to one Mr. Peter Sands a Dyer for 5l. 10s. And being taken at the Sarcacen's head, in Friday Street, denied that he stole it; and likewise upon his Trial said that he bought it of Mr. Dukes man for 7l. but could not prove it. The Jury having considered the matter, he was found guilty .
