William Evans and Leonard Evans were Indicted for stealing from Peter Briggins of the Parish of Tottenham High Cross , on the thirteenth of October a black Gelding . Mr. Briggins deposed, That his Gelding was stole out of grounds called Freehold Field near Green Lane , and that they offered it to sale: William Evans said it was given him by his Father, but could not prove it; he could give no account of himself, he was found guilty , and Leonard Evans not guilty .
