947. JAMES THOMAS was indicted for stealing, on the 1st of May , a handkerchief, value 5 s., the goods of Robert Robertson , from his person .

ROBERT ROBERTSON. I am a woollen-draper . On the 1st of May, about seven o'clock in the evening, I was at the corner of Great James-street, Bedford-row - I had a handkerchief in my pocket. I felt some person pull at my pocket, and saw the prisoner cross the way, putting my handkerchief into his trowsers; I pursued, and took him before he got out of sight. I searched him, and found it in his trowsers.

JOHN GREEN . I am a constable. The prisoner was given into my charge.

GUILTY . Aged 16.

Confined Two Months and Whipped .
