It appear'd that on Sunday the 2d Instant the Prisoner came to a Parish Nurses, and sat down by the Fire; That she was observ'd to take something out of her Pocket, and convey it into a Ladle half fill'd with Broth, stirring it about with her Finger, and put it into the Porridge-Pot then upon the Fire. The Family not knowing what was done, eat of the Broth to the Number of 15, which in an hour or two were taken with Vomiting; it wrought to that degree upon the 2 deceas'd Persons, that they died the Day following. It appear'd that the Prisoner had been with several

It appear'd thro' the whole Series of the Evidence, that the Prisoner had been for a considerable time Distracted, and fancied she was Damn'd, that she was a Spirit, and not a Woman; and sometimes was so very Outragious that she was chain'd in her Bed, &c. It was prov'd plainly that the Prisoner had such a Child, that she took her out with her, and that it hath not been seen since; so that her own Confession, was sufficient Proof of the Fact. But in her Defence it appear'd plain that she had for a considerable time been under a great trouble of Mind, and in a disponding Condition (for Misfortunes relating to her Family) that she would commit many extravagant Actions, and particularly when she lay In three Months ago, would rise out of her Bed and Dance about the Room; which Disorders of Mind continu'd upon her ever since. It further appear'd, that her Mother was for several Years under those unhappy Circumstances, and look'd upon as a Lunatick at the Birth of the Prisoner. It was likewise prov'd that the Prisoner was an affectionate Mother to her Child, and that what she had done she said, was to prevent its being miserable in this World. <p>THE Charitable Surgeon: Or, the best Rememedies for the worst Maladies, reveal'd. Being a new and true way of Curing (without Mercury) the several degrees of the Venereal Distemper in both Sexes, whereby all Persons, even the meanest Capacities, may for an inconsiderable charge, without confinemen or knowledge of the nearest Relation, cure themselves easily, speedily and safely, by the Methods prescrib'd without the help of any Physician, Surgeon or Apothecary; or being expos'd to the hazarious attempts of Quacks and Pretenders. To which is subjoin'd, a new discovery of the true Seat of Claps in Men and Women, different from the commonly received Opinion of Authors. As also a peculiar Method of curing their Gleets and Weaknesses, whether Venereal, Seminal, of otherwise; with some other pertinent Observations relating thereto, never before taken notice of. Likewise the certain cases way to escape Infection, tho' never so often accompanying with the most polluted Companion. By T. C. <p>RElief and a perfect Cure for the most stubborn and inveterate Poxes, of so long standing that the very Bones are Infected, and the Patient so deplorable by means of violent Pains, Ulcers, &c. as to despair of ever being cured. By a Method and Medicine, prov'd, by near 20 Years, successful, Practice, to perform in such cases a specify, sale effectual, and even infallible Cure. In a Gonorrbau Running of the Reins at Clap, the Infection is perfectly carry'd off, and the Cure compleated, without the least hindrance of Business, in a very few Days time. <p>The fam'd Canker Water.</p>
<p>WHich so perfectly and immediately cures all Cankers, Sores, eating Ulcers, Pustules, Heats and inflammations in the Mouth ho' never so far gone, even to the loss of part of the Tongue, Cheaks or Lips, it has saved the Lives of several both Men, Women and Children. It is only to be had at Robina Coffee-house in Exchange-alley, at 2 s. 6 d. the Bottle, with Printed Directions. Note, Its Vertue decays no in keeping; and it is very useful and much esteemed at Sea.</p>
<p>MArten's Treatise (being the Sixth Edition, with large Additions) of all the Degrees and Symptoms of the Venereal Disease, in both Sexes; Explicating Naturally and Mechanically its Causes, Kinds, various Ways of Infecting; the Nature of Hereditary Infection; Certainty of knowing whether Infected or not, Infallible Way to prevent Infection; Easiness of Cure when Infected, Reasons why so many miss of Cure; how to know when, and when not, in Skilful Hands for Cure; and the Use and Abuse of Mercury in the Cure. Necessary to be Read and Observ'd by an Persons that Now have, Even had, (many other Diseases being occasion'd by the Venereal Taint and Mercury,) or at any time May have the Misfortune of that Distemper, is order to prevent their being Ruin'd by Ignorant Pretenders, Quacks, Mountebanks, Impostors, Sec. whose Notorious Practices are clearly evinc'd. To which is added, The Cause and Cure of Old Gleets, and Weaknesses in Men and Women, whether Venereal or Seminal, briefly describing the Use and Abuse of their Genital Parts, and why Gleets (at sometimes they do hinder Procreation, causing Impotency, &c. in Men, and Sterility, &c. in Women. With some Remarkable Cases of that Kind inserted. The whole Interspers'd with peculiar Prescriptions, many Pertinent Observations, Histories and Letters of very Remarkable Cures. <p>ALL Melancholly and Hypochondriacal Distempers of Wind, with strange Fears, dismal Apprehensions, great Oppressions and Sinking of Spirits (little understood, and seldom Cured by any common Means) also the most extreme Giddinesses, and Pains in the Head, Fainting, Tremblings, or any other Disorders arising from Vapours; are successfully cured (with God's Blessing) by a Physician well experienced therein, and of more than 20 Years Practice in those deplorable Cases: who also Cures Convulsions and all other the most strange and violent Fits, if curable, which he informs on sight of their Water.
