Samuel Awdry , of the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields , was indicted for privately stealing a Silver-hilted Sword , form the Person of George Philips , on the 8th Instant. The Prosecutor swore, That as he was passing thro' Round Court in the Strand , the Prisoner run full against him, drove him against the Wall, snatch'd his Sword from his Side, and ran away; whereupon he call'd out, and got Help, who upon Pursuit took him with the Sword in his Hand. The Matter being so plain, he was found guilty of the Indictment.
