John Chambers of the Parish of St. John Wapping was Indicted for the Murder of John Milman on the 18th of February , by giving him one mortal Wound with a Rapier value 2 s. on the Left part of the Body nigh the Left Pap, one Inch in breadth and three in depth, of which he instantly died . He was likewise Indicted upon the Statute of Stabbing. It appeared that the Prisoner and the Deceased, with some others, being Drinking together, some Difference hapned about the Reckoning; the Prisoner, without any other provocation than a Lye, gave the Deceased the Wound. The Prisoner in his Defence said, that he had other provocation given him by the Deceased, but could not prove it: he was found Guilty of Murder.
