Ratcliff , hired Servant of Stephen Scot of St. Andrews Holborn , Indicted for Stealing a Gold Ring set with nine Diamond Stones value 20 or 30 l. and a Silver Spoon, value 5 s. from her said Master ; which Ring she had Pawned for but 5 s. The Prisoner at length confess'd it, saying. It was the first ill thing she ever committed, and seemed to beg for Mercy: She was found guilty of Felony.
